In 2016 Calverton Hall held the world premiere of the pantomime "Jack and the Beanstalk", starring those in the Grade 5/6 class. Tickets went on sale on Monday morning and by that afternoon all three nights were completely sold out. Those who missed out waited hopefully at the door for any spare seats that may somehow have become available or looked around furtively for scalpers.

As I walk into the silent hall to do drama practice I wonder how many other people had come through these doors full of wonder and excitement like I had. A soft stream of light filled the hall as other people opened the doors behind me, the light was soon extinguished as the doors creaked shut behind me again...
Hannah and Sophie, 11 years
...to the excitement of the opening night and those that followed (one of which was attended by Kate Warner, Governor of Tasmania, seen silently lip-syncing to ABBA songs), the performance was declared a resounding success and will hopefully see upcoming grades of South Arm Primary School "treading the boards" of Calverton Hall on a regular basis.
