Paradise Peninsula
When the makers of the board game Monopoly released their World Edition of the popular game they were wise to have not included South Arm as one of their chosen cities. Little would they have known that the South Arm edition had already been released and had made it's world premiere in the home of its creator, Felix. With location appropriate modifications "Boat got stuck on Black Jack Rocks, pay $200" and "Successful day at the South Arm Market, collect $100" the story of how the game came about will surely go down in the history pages of the South Arm area.
I was walking along the beach with mum and Eloise
when the dog ran away. We sat down to wait for the
dog to come back when the conversation wandered
to making a board game like Monopoly and we called
it Paradise Peninsula. We came up with lottery tickets
and used street names from South Arm. School is JAIL,
the shop is GO, the bus is the police man and the jetty
is FREE PARKING. When the dog came back we went
home and designed the game and made it. Our pieces
are little plastic animals that you put together. Mine is a
bird with a wallaby tail, mum’s is a sugar glider and
Eloise’s is a turtle.
